Our sustainabilty efforts
We believe that working ethically, safely and in an environmentally conscious way makes a tangible difference to our customers and colleagues.
A network built on sustainability
At Matthew Clark Bibendum, we believe that sustainability needs to be embraced at every step of the value chain. Look out for our low-emission Euro VI vehicles across more than 90% of our fleet. We’ve also installed solar technology on the roofs of some of our trucks, which proactively reduces the fuel and emissions of each vehicle.
As part of C&C Group, we’ve set ambitious greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets. We strive to be carbon neutral business by 2050 through reducing emissions, respecting water, and enabling circular systems.
Sourcing a sustainable range
We are working with our supply chain to reduce Scope 3 emissions, which are affected by purchased goods, transportation and distribution. Considering wider social and ethical, as well as environmental issues, this approach includes asking our partners to sign up to our Code of Conduct and Modern Slavery policy, and report their emissions data via CDP, encouraging them to set science-based emissions reduction targets, and engaging the supply chain to understand how they manage their climate risks.
We work hard to make sure that our wine range reflects our company values, by selecting a diverse range of wines made with care. We love sharing the amazing stories from suppliers who are working towards organic or biodynamic certifications or carbon neutrality. We are also excited to work with producers going down a less conventional route by, for example, planting native flora to promote biodiversity or reducing electricity usage by using gravity assisted pumping in the winery.
